Gates and The Vintage is an exciting combination of the new
and the seasoned among bluegrass musicians. Bandleader Scott,
at only 15 years old, is already an accomplished performer with two
CDs to his credit, as well as having appeared on national television,
Los Angeles television, stages across the country, several U.S. radio
shows, and many performances throughout California. Scott plays a blistering,
driving mandolin as well as guitar and most other fretted instruments.
Handling the lead vocals and front man position for The Vintage, Scott
has brought together some of his favorite players and friends to form
this band. Outstanding vocalist and flat-picker, Mike Nadolson
brings in the guitar. Mike and Scott have played together for years
swapping hot instrumental breaks and singing well-blended harmonies.
Kevin Gore on the Banjo provides that famous bluegrass
sound, and can sometimes be coaxed to sing an excellent lead vocal.
Holding down the bass is Fred Wade. With 35 years of
experience to his credit, Fred is a respected mainstay in Southern California
bluegrass. This great foursome of incredibly talented musicians provide
their share of beautiful vocals, blazing instrumentals and laughs a-plenty
as they play good old fashion' foot stompin' bluegrass, for you. |
